On 19 August LinkedIn introduced a new funcionality: University Pages. What new opportunities come with this University Page and how can both universities as well as our target audiences (prospective students, students, alumni) benefit?
LinkedIn as the new Facebook
At first sight the new LinkedIn University Page looks quite like a Facebook page. A University can post status updates to all it followers. These updates can be liked and you can place a comment underneath. What’s new?
We at TU Delft got about 75.000 followers to our University Page. Out of nowhere to be honest! I assume that all people who have TU Delft in their profile (students, employee, alumni) are automatically added as a follower. That makes this University Page to our largest online network!
